British Martindale Machete
This is a British Martindale machete, dated 1961, complete with its 1942-dated leather sheath. The machete features a substantial, single-edged blade designed for utility and brush-clearing tasks. The blade is marked with “KE8277 1961” and a broad arrow indicating military issue. The leather sheath is constructed from thick, durable hide, and features a belt loop for easy carry.
Condition and Collectibility
This machete shows signs of age and use, with patina to the blade and wear to the leather sheath. The blade retains an edge, though it may benefit from sharpening. The sheath exhibits creasing and wear consistent with field use. This example would be of interest to collectors of British military surplus, edged weapons, or vintage tools, and represents a piece of military history.
