Antique Leaded Glass Window Panes
This lot comprises two antique leaded glass window panes, one featuring a beautifully etched Griffin motif. The leadwork appears to be hand-crafted, indicative of a period when such windows were custom-made for discerning homeowners. The Griffin pane showcases intricate detail in the etching, adding a touch of heraldic symbolism and artistic flair. These panes likely originated from a larger window assembly, offering a glimpse into the architectural styles of a bygone era.
Condition and Collectibility
The panes exhibit signs of age and wear consistent with their antique status, including some minor imperfections in the glass and leadwork. While not pristine, these imperfections contribute to the panes’ character and authenticity. Collectors and enthusiasts will appreciate the opportunity to acquire a piece of architectural history, potentially incorporating these panes into a restoration project or displaying them as unique decorative elements.
