Oak Fire Surround – Description
This is a substantial oak fire surround, measuring 52/41/7.5”. The surround presents a classic design, likely originating from the Victorian or Edwardian period. The oak has a warm tone and displays a traditional carved detailing, suggesting it would have formed the focal point of a room. It’s a substantial piece, designed to house an open fire or, more recently, a gas or electric fire insert.
Condition & Collectability
The fire surround shows signs of age and use, with some wear and tear commensurate with its age. It may benefit from restoration or cleaning, depending on the buyer’s preference. Despite this, it retains much of its original character and would be a desirable addition to a period property or for someone seeking a statement piece. The surround’s size and detailing make it a particularly attractive example for collectors of antique fireplaces.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
