Antique Wooden Grain Scoop

This is an antique wooden grain scoop, likely dating to the 18th or 19th century. Constructed from a single piece of wood, it exhibits a simple, functional design typical of early agricultural tools. The scoop’s robust construction suggests it was intended for heavy use, and its worn surface bears testament to years of service. The scoop’s handle is integrated into the body, providing a secure grip for lifting and dispensing grain or other dry goods.

Condition and Collectibility

The scoop exhibits signs of age and use, including wear, minor cracks, and a weathered patina. These imperfections contribute to its character and authenticity, and are consistent with an item of this age. This scoop would be a desirable addition to a collection of antique farm tools, country primitives, or kitchenalia, and would appeal to collectors interested in early American agricultural history.
