Hygrotherm Recorder Introduction

This is a Hygrotherm recorder, a device used for recording both humidity and temperature. Housed within a wooden case, this instrument likely dates to the mid-20th century and would have been used in meteorological observation or scientific research. The case features a hinged lid and a carrying handle, suggesting portability, and the internal mechanism displays dials for both humidity and temperature readings.

Hygrotherm Recorder Condition

The recorder presents with signs consistent with age and use. The wooden case exhibits wear and tear, and the internal components show signs of oxidation. Despite this, the instrument retains a degree of originality and would be of interest to collectors of scientific instruments, meteorological equipment, or those interested in vintage recording devices.
