Introduction

This is a vintage wooden spinning wheel, a traditional tool used for creating yarn from fibres like wool or flax. The wheel features a beautifully crafted wooden frame, a drive wheel, and a spindle for twisting the fibres. It showcases a classic design, likely dating back to a time when homespun textiles were essential for daily life. The wheel’s construction suggests it was built with both functionality and a degree of artistry, reflecting the skill of the craftsperson who made it.

Condition

This spinning wheel exhibits signs of age and use, consistent with its vintage nature. The wood shows wear and patina, and some parts may exhibit minor imperfections or repairs. Despite this, the wheel remains structurally sound and retains its character. It would appeal to collectors of antique tools, folk art enthusiasts, or those interested in preserving traditional crafts.
