1893 Victoria Old Head Silver Crown
This is a silver crown coin issued in 1893 during the reign of Queen Victoria. It features the ‘Old Head’ portrait of Queen Victoria, a design used during the later years of her reign. The obverse displays the portrait of Queen Victoria, along with the inscription “VICTORIA DEI: GRA: BRITT: REGINA FIDEI DEF.” (Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of Great Britain, Defender of the Faith) and the date “1893”.
Condition and Collectibility
This coin shows signs of wear consistent with its age and circulation. Despite this, it remains a desirable piece for collectors of British coinage, particularly those interested in Victorian-era coins. The ‘Old Head’ design is a popular variant, and the coin’s silver content adds to its intrinsic value and appeal.
