Victorian Hot Water Bottles & Salt Glazed Pots
This lot comprises two Victorian hot water bottles, one bearing the Doulton mark, alongside three salt-glazed stoneware pots. The hot water bottles showcase the typical form of the era, designed to provide warmth, while the salt-glazed pots likely served practical purposes in a Victorian kitchen or pantry. The stoneware exhibits the characteristic dark, mottled appearance of salt-glazing, a technique popular for its durability and rustic aesthetic.
Condition & Collectibility
The items present with signs consistent with age and use, including minor imperfections and wear to the surfaces. These imperfections contribute to the character and authenticity of the pieces, appealing to collectors of Victorian ceramics and kitchenalia. The Doulton hot water bottle is particularly desirable, and the entire lot offers a glimpse into domestic life during the Victorian period, making it a charming addition to any collection or display.
