1950s Petrol Ration Book
This is a genuine 1950s petrol ration book, designed for vehicles up to 1100cc. These books were essential during the post-war period of petrol rationing in the United Kingdom, allowing vehicle owners to purchase limited amounts of fuel. The booklet features spaces for coupons to be affixed, indicating the amount of petrol authorised for use. It represents a fascinating piece of social and motoring history, reflecting the constraints and realities of life in the 1950s.
Condition and Collectibility
This ration book shows signs of age and use, consistent with its vintage. While the coupons themselves may or may not be present, the book remains a desirable item for collectors of motoring ephemera, social history, and vintage paper collectibles. It offers a tangible link to a bygone era and provides a unique insight into the daily lives of vehicle owners during a period of austerity.
