WWII Water Canteen and Gas Mask Set
This lot comprises a WWII-era water canteen and a civilian gas mask. The canteen is constructed of a metal body with a woven webbing cover, complete with a shoulder strap for carrying. The gas mask is contained within its original tin, and appears to be a civilian-issue model, likely British. This set represents a fascinating glimpse into the equipment used during the Second World War, offering a tangible connection to a pivotal period in history.
Condition and Collectibility
The canteen and gas mask exhibit signs of age and use, consistent with their vintage. The metal canteen shows some surface wear and patina, while the webbing cover displays some fading and minor wear. The gas mask within its tin appears largely intact, though a detailed inspection would be required to assess its full functionality. This set would be of interest to collectors of WWII memorabilia, military history enthusiasts, or those seeking unique vintage items.
