Thames Conservancy Private Vessel Registration Plate
This is a pair of original enamel registration plates issued by the Thames Conservancy in 1897 for private pleasure vessels. These plates would have been affixed to boats navigating the River Thames, serving as official identification. The plates feature bold lettering and a classic enamel finish, typical of signage from this period.
Condition and Collectability
These plates exhibit signs of age and wear consistent with their age, including some enamel loss and surface scratches. Despite this, the plates remain remarkably legible and retain their original character. Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
