Hicks Patent Medicine Glass

This is an antique Hicks Patent Medicine Glass, complete with its original case. The glass itself is clear and features graduated measurements, likely used for precise dosing of liquid medications. The case is constructed of cardboard and shows signs of age, consistent with its antique status. This type of glass was a common sight in pharmacies and homes during the 19th and early 20th centuries, representing a period when self-medication and home remedies were prevalent.

Condition and Collectibility

The medicine glass and case exhibit wear commensurate with age, including minor discoloration and surface imperfections. While not pristine, these characteristics contribute to its authenticity and appeal as a collectible item. Collectors of medical antiques, apothecary items, or vintage glassware will find this piece particularly desirable. It offers a glimpse into the history of medicine and pharmacy, and serves as a unique conversation starter.
