WWII Dutch Military Bronze Dish

This bronze dish depicts a Dutch girl and an army officer in a heart-shaped design, likely created during or shortly after World War II. The relief carving shows the officer in uniform, standing beside a young woman, possibly representing a patriotic symbol or a farewell scene. The dish is cast in bronze, exhibiting a dark patina consistent with age and handling. It features a loop at the top, suggesting it was intended to be hung or displayed as a decorative piece.

Condition and Collectability

The bronze dish shows signs of age and wear, with some surface scratches and discoloration, which is typical for vintage bronze items. Despite this, the relief carving remains clear and well-defined. This piece would appeal to collectors of WWII memorabilia, Dutch military history, or vintage bronze art. Its unique heart shape and poignant imagery make it a desirable and evocative collectable.
