WW1 Aero Art Tobacco Pot

This fascinating tobacco pot is a unique piece of First World War memorabilia. Crafted from sections of original British aircraft propellers used during the 1914-1918 conflict, it exemplifies ‘trench art’ – objects created by soldiers from salvaged materials. The pot features a cylindrical body and a matching lid, showcasing the distinctive grain of the wood and the craftsmanship involved in repurposing these historic components. A label affixed to the base clearly identifies it as an “Aero-Art Product” guaranteed to be made from these propellers.

Condition and Collectibility

The tobacco pot exhibits signs of age and wear consistent with its history, including minor imperfections and surface wear to the wood. These imperfections add to its character and authenticity, demonstrating its genuine wartime origin. This piece would be a desirable addition to a collection of military memorabilia, aviation history, or ‘trench art’, offering a tangible connection to the First World War and the ingenuity of the soldiers who created it.
