Antique Horse Letter Opener
This elegant letter opener features a beautifully sculpted horse head, poised in a prancing stance. Crafted from a solid metal, likely silver plate or a similar alloy, the piece exhibits fine detailing in the mane and facial features. The blade is slender and tapers to a fine point, designed for opening correspondence with a touch of sophistication. This piece would have been a stylish addition to a Victorian or Edwardian desk.
Condition and Collectibility
The letter opener shows signs of age and use, with some minor surface wear and possible patina consistent with its age. It appears to be structurally sound, though a professional cleaning may enhance its appearance. This piece would appeal to collectors of equestrian memorabilia, antique desk accessories, or those seeking a unique and decorative item for their home or office.
