Introduction
This is a charming vintage Deans teddy bear, a classic example of early 20th-century British toy-making. Deans bears were renowned for their quality and craftsmanship, and this example features a golden mohair coat, traditional jointed limbs, and a sweet, endearing expression. The bear’s construction and features suggest it dates to a period when Deans was establishing its reputation for producing high-quality, sought-after teddy bears.
Condition
This Deans teddy bear exhibits signs of age and wear consistent with its vintage status, adding to its character and appeal. The mohair shows some loss and wear, and there may be minor repairs or restoration work. Despite these imperfections, the bear remains a delightful collectible, appealing to enthusiasts of antique toys and teddy bear collectors who appreciate the history and charm of these beloved objects.
