Introduction

This is an antique oak footstool, likely dating from the Victorian era. The stool features a solid oak construction with a shaped top and turned legs, indicative of the craftsmanship of the period. Its low profile and compact size suggest it was originally intended as a gout stool or a comfortable rest for the feet, commonly used in homes during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The warm tone of the oak and simple design lend it a rustic charm.

Condition

The footstool exhibits signs of age and wear consistent with its antique status. There are surface scratches, minor imperfections, and a natural patina developed over time. While these imperfections do not detract from its overall appeal, they contribute to its character and authenticity. This stool would be a desirable addition to a collection of antique furniture or a charming accent piece for a farmhouse-style interior.
