Vintage Polar Route Menu
This is a charming and rare original menu from February 24th, 1952, commemorating the inauguration of the new polar route between the Far East and Europe. The menu, titled “Polar Menu”, details a meal of Roast Young Turkey Chipolata, Potatoes Parisienne, Garden Green Salad, Cheese and Crackers, North Pole Surprise, and Coffee. It features a delightful hand-painted illustration depicting scenes of arctic life and travel, signed “AC” in the lower right corner.
Condition and Collectibility
The menu shows signs of age and handling, consistent with its vintage. It is presented within a simple frame, and a small label with handwritten notes is affixed to the upper corner. This piece of ephemera would be a wonderful addition to a collection of airline memorabilia, vintage menus, or arctic exploration artifacts, and is of particular interest due to the original artwork and signature.
