Pocket Watch by W. M. Taylor, Hull
This is a handsome silver pocket watch made by W. M. Taylor of Hull. The watch features a white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and delicate blued steel hands. A subsidiary dial is present at the six o’clock position. The case is hallmarked with a silver mark and bears the inscription “MADE IN SWITZERLAND”, indicating a Swiss movement imported and cased in Hull. The watch is complete with a pendant loop.
Condition and Collector’s Interest
The watch shows signs of age and use, consistent with its antique status. The silver case exhibits surface scratches and wear commensurate with age. The dial shows some minor imperfections. This piece would appeal to collectors of antique pocket watches, particularly those interested in British provincial watchmakers and Swiss movements.
