Wedgwood Jasperware Collection

This collection comprises several pieces of classic Wedgwood jasperware, including small trinket pots and jugs, all rendered in a delicate shade of pale green. Jasperware, patented by Josiah Wedgwood in 1774, is a fine-grained, unglazed stoneware renowned for its matte finish and neoclassical relief decorations. The pieces feature applied white bas-relief ornamentation, depicting scenes inspired by classical mythology and pastoral life, characteristic of the style.

Condition & Collectibility

These Wedgwood pieces exhibit signs consistent with age and use, including minor wear to the relief details and potential surface scratches. Despite this, the pieces remain visually appealing and representative of the quality craftsmanship associated with Wedgwood. Collectors appreciate jasperware for its historical significance, artistic merit, and enduring appeal, making this collection a desirable addition to any ceramic or antique assemblage.
