RAF Special Ration Tin

This is a W.W.II Royal Air Force (RAF) Special Ration Type B tin, Ref.27P/20. The circular tin features a striking design with the RAF crest – an eagle clutching a parachute – prominently displayed on a light blue background, surrounded by a patterned border. The tin is marked with instructions to “BREAK SEAL BEFORE TWISTING OPEN UNDER PRESSURE” and the reference number “REF.27P/20”. It was intended as an emergency food supply for aircrew.

Condition and Collectability

The tin exhibits signs of age and wear consistent with its historical period, including surface corrosion and some loss of paint. It appears to still contain its original contents, though the condition of these is unknown.
