Nicaraguan Pottery by Victor Barrios

This lot features two pieces of pottery: a Nicaraguan vase by Victor Barrios, dated 2009, and a West German stoneware jug. The Nicaraguan vase is a striking example of San Juan de Oriente pottery, known for its intricate geometric designs. The vase is a deep, rich colour with a complex pattern of fine, repeating lines creating a visually captivating texture. The West German jug displays a textured, speckled glaze in shades of cream, green, and brown, typical of mid-century West German ceramics.

Condition and Collectibility

Both pieces exhibit signs consistent with age and use. The Nicaraguan vase appears to be in good condition, with no obvious cracks or repairs, though minor imperfections may be present. The West German jug also appears to be in good condition, with some expected wear to the glaze. These pieces would appeal to collectors of Latin American folk art, mid-century modern ceramics, or those interested in unique handmade pottery.
