RAF Volunteer Reserve Dog Tags
These are a pair of original dog tags belonging to a Volunteer Reserve officer in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. The tags are constructed of pressed fibre and are connected by a length of woven cord for wearing around the neck. One tag details religious affiliation as Church of England, while the other provides service number, initials and date of issue – 1944.
Condition & Collectibility
The dog tags exhibit signs of wear consistent with their age and wartime use, with some fading to the embossed details and minor surface marks. Despite this, the tags remain remarkably well-preserved and are a genuine piece of British military history. These tags would be of interest to collectors of militaria, particularly those focused on the Royal Air Force or WWII-era items, and offer a poignant connection to the individuals who served.
