Historical 1831 Gladius Foot Artillery Sword
This is an 1831 pattern Gladius foot artillery short sword, a French military weapon. The sword features a curved blade, a brass hilt with a distinctive green-patinated finish, and a scabbard. Markings on the blade include “Manufacture d’Armes de Châtellerault” and a “B” within an oval, along with a “S” stamp on the hilt. The scabbard is marked with “9.6.3”.
