Chess Set & Table
This impressive lot features a large, hand-carved chess set presented on a mahogany chessboard table. The chess pieces depict figures in medieval attire, with one side appearing to represent royalty or nobility, and the other side appearing to represent soldiers. The chessboard table itself is constructed from rich mahogany wood, with a decorative carved edge and sturdy legs.
Condition & Collectibility
The chess set and table exhibit signs of age and wear consistent with antique items. Some pieces show minor chips or imperfections in the carving, and the mahogany table displays surface scratches and wear. Despite these imperfections, the set retains a remarkable level of detail and character, making it a desirable piece for collectors of antique games or those seeking a unique decorative item.
