About this Watercolour Portrait
This is a 20th-century watercolour portrait by Sydney Horn Shepherd, depicting a nude female figure. The artwork showcases Shepherd’s skill in capturing the human form with delicate washes of colour and subtle shading. The composition is a classic figure study, focusing on the graceful lines and contours of the subject. The artist’s signature is clearly visible, adding to the piece’s authenticity and provenance.
Condition and Collectibility
The watercolour appears to be in good condition for its age, with expected minor signs of wear consistent with a vintage piece. The paper shows some age-related toning, but the colours remain vibrant. This watercolour would be of interest to collectors of British 20th-century art, figure studies, or works by Sydney Horn Shepherd. Its delicate execution and classic subject matter make it a beautiful and evocative piece.
