Bricklayer Bickhod
This is a traditional bricklayer’s bickhod, a tool used for carrying and distributing mortar and other materials. Constructed from a single piece of sheet metal, it features a deep, angled trough designed to hold a substantial amount of material. The handle is a simple wooden dowel, providing a comfortable grip for the user. This style of bickhod would have been commonly used in bricklaying and plastering work, offering a practical solution for transporting materials around a construction site.
Condition
This bickhod shows signs of age and use, with surface rust and wear consistent with a tool of its type and era. The metal exhibits a patina developed over time, adding to its character. While not pristine, the bickhod remains structurally sound and would be of interest to collectors of vintage tools, those involved in historical building restoration, or individuals seeking a unique garden tool.
