Sign Selection

This lot comprises a selection of various signs, including road and street signage. Notable amongst the collection is a circular sign displaying the number ’40’, and a rectangular sign that appears to have once read ‘High Street’ but is missing the ‘H’. The signs exhibit a classic style, likely dating from mid-20th century, and are constructed from metal.

Condition & Collectibility

The signs show signs of age and wear, with surface rust, paint loss, and general deterioration consistent with outdoor use and storage. Despite this, they retain a certain charm and character that appeals to collectors of vintage automobilia and street furniture. The missing letter on the ‘High Street’ sign adds to its unique appeal, offering a restoration project or a piece of ephemera as is.
