Victorian Nursery Print
This is a 19th-century oval chromolithograph depicting a scene from J.M. Barrie’s *Peter Pan*, featuring Peter Pan and Captain Hook in a dramatic confrontation. The print showcases vibrant colours typical of chromolithography, a popular printing technique during the Victorian era, and was likely intended as decorative art for a nursery or children’s room. The composition is dynamic, capturing the energy of the story and the iconic characters.
Condition and Collectibility
The chromolithograph shows signs of age, consistent with its antique status, and may exhibit some minor foxing or wear. Despite this, the colours remain remarkably bright, and the print retains its visual appeal. This piece would be of interest to collectors of Victorian prints, Peter Pan memorabilia, or antique nursery art, offering a charming glimpse into the aesthetic tastes of the era.
