Four Lidded Sterling Silver Pill Pots
This lot comprises four lidded pill pots, each stated to be of 925 sterling silver and offered together with a combined weight of 36.2g. The group includes two pots with scalloped, quatrefoil-style outlines decorated with engraved foliate scrollwork, a heart-shaped pot with a plain central panel framed by an engraved border, and a small round pot with a pierced and decorated lid. The round example is set with a diamond-shaped light-coloured inset panel and has a stepped, tiered base. Their compact size makes them suitable for display or for keeping small items.
Condition and Collector Interest
The pots are offered as seen, and no assurances are given as to their function. Surface wear and tarnishing are visible across the pieces, consistent with their apparent age. The engraved decoration on the scalloped and heart-shaped examples remains legible in places, and the group is presented as a set of four differing designs. The assortment of shapes and decorative styles may appeal to collectors of small silver boxes and to buyers seeking silver trinket pots or pill boxes.
