Pair of 9ct Rolled Gold Hinged Bracelets
This lot comprises two 9ct rolled gold hinged bracelets. One is a wider bangle with a floral engraved design across its outer face, while the other is a narrower hinged bracelet with engraved decoration around its outer surface. The narrower bracelet is fitted with a clasp and a fine safety chain. The interior of the wider bangle is inscribed with “50 MICRON 9CT”, indicating a rolled gold layer over a base metal core, together with a patent number, 1167637.
Condition and Collectability
Both bracelets show general signs of age and handling, including surface wear and fine scratches, most noticeable on the inner face of the wider bangle. The engraved detail remains visible on both pieces. The lot is offered as seen, and no assurance is given as to the function of the clasps or chain. Pieces of this kind, with legible marks and period engraving, are of interest to collectors of vintage costume jewellery and to buyers seeking affordable gold-finished bracelets from the early to mid twentieth century.
