Victorian Dickens Illustration Jug and Vases
This charming collection comprises a large jug and two smaller vases, all decorated with scenes illustrating the works of Charles Dickens. Each piece features transfer-printed scenes from *Oliver Twist* and *The Pickwick Papers*, attributed to Adam’s, and is accented with gilded detailing. The jug and vases are further enhanced by hallmarked silver mounts – the jug with a London hallmark, and the vases with Chester hallmarks – adding a touch of elegance and collectibility.
Condition and Collectibility
These pieces exhibit signs of age and use, consistent with their antique status. The silver mounts show some wear, and there may be minor imperfections in the ceramic glaze. Despite these minor flaws, the pieces remain visually appealing and represent a rare opportunity to acquire a set of Victorian ceramics celebrating the works of Charles Dickens, complete with silver hallmarks. These would be a desirable addition to any collection of literary or Victorian memorabilia.
