Vintage Adler Tippa S Portable Manual Typewriter

This lot offers a vintage Adler Tippa S portable manual typewriter, offered in its black hard case with the lid open. It is presented as a collectable office machine from the mid-twentieth century, suited to collectors of typewriters and vintage writing equipment.

The Adler Tippa S is a compact manual typewriter from the German manufacturer Adler, designed for portability. It features a black body with a hinged cover and cream-coloured keys bearing black characters, arranged in a standard QWERTY layout with a full row of figures and symbols across the top. A red-and-black ribbon mechanism and a platen sit beneath the carriage, with a small paper note tucked in the carriage area. The machine is an attractive example of the Tippa range, which was popular for its neat, travel-friendly design.

Condition and Collectability

The typewriter is offered in good vintage condition, with the black casing and cream keys showing the expected signs of age and use. The small note tucked in the carriage is a notable original feature, adding a personal touch to the lot. No guarantee is given as to the mechanical operation of this typewriter, and it is sold as seen. Its original Adler Tippa S design, portable form and period styling are likely to appeal to collectors of vintage typewriters, as well as to buyers looking for a retro display piece.
