Aegina Turtle Coin Reproduction
This is a reproduction of an ancient Greek coin originating from the island of Aegina. The coin features a prominent depiction of a sea turtle, a symbol closely associated with Aegina and its maritime history. The design is cast in a bronze-toned metal, attempting to emulate the appearance of ancient bronze coinage. The coin’s relief is raised, showcasing the turtle’s shell and form, and a small symbol is visible above the turtle.
Condition and Collectibility
This coin is a reproduction and should not be mistaken for an authentic ancient artifact. It exhibits signs of casting and handling, with some surface imperfections and variations in texture. Despite being a reproduction, this coin may appeal to collectors interested in ancient Greek numismatics, those seeking affordable representations of historical coins, or individuals fascinated by the symbolism of the Aegina turtle.
