Aga and Cousances Cast Iron Casserole Dishes
This lot comprises three cast iron casserole dishes with lids, two finished in white and one in orange. The white examples are attributed to Aga, while the orange piece is by Cousances. Each dish has a lid and two handles, and the orange example also has a raised loop knob on its lid.
The white Aga casseroles have a glazed, enamelled finish with smooth lids and handles that are moulded to the shape of the dish. The larger of the two is oval with a deep body and a dark interior rim. The orange Cousances dish is oval with a cream-coloured rim and flared handles, and its vivid orange enamel is a feature of the design.
Condition and Originality
The dishes show general signs of use consistent with their age. Minor marks are visible on the orange lid, and the white pieces show some surface wear and darkening to the enamel. Both brands are associated with cast iron cookware that has long been valued by cooks and collectors, and the contrasting white and orange finishes make this group of pieces appealing to those who collect kitchenware of this period or who appreciate the bold colour of Cousances enamelware.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
