Aldermaston Pottery Cup

This is a striking example of mid-century British studio pottery, specifically a cup produced by Aldermaston Pottery and designed by Edgar Camden. The cup features a distinctive speckled cream glaze with bold, contrasting brown bands. Aldermaston Pottery was renowned for its innovative designs and high-quality craftsmanship during the 1950s and 60s, and Edgar Camden was a key figure in establishing its aesthetic. This piece exemplifies the studio pottery movement’s focus on handmade artistry and functional design.

Condition and Collectibility

This Aldermaston Pottery cup presents well, with expected signs of age and use consistent with a vintage item. There are no significant chips or cracks, though minor crazing to the glaze is present, which is typical for pottery of this era.
