Aldis Signalling Lamp

This is a vintage Aldis signalling lamp, likely dating from the WWII era. These lamps were commonly used by naval and military personnel for communication, utilising a powerful beam of light to transmit messages over distance. The lamp features a robust construction, with a brass housing and a substantial lens, designed for durability in harsh conditions. The lamp is equipped with a handle for aiming and adjustment, and retains its original filter slides for colour coding signals.

Condition

This Aldis lamp shows signs of age and use, consistent with its military history. The paint is worn in places, and there is some corrosion to the brass components. However, the lens appears to be intact, and the mechanism for adjusting the beam seems to function. This lamp would be of interest to collectors of military memorabilia, maritime history enthusiasts, or those seeking a unique and historically significant lighting fixture.
