Introduction
This is an antique Barton’s miners lamp, a vital piece of equipment used in coal mines during the 19th and 20th centuries. These lamps provided illumination for miners working underground, and were designed with a safety cage to protect the flame from being extinguished by bumps or air currents. The lamp features a distinctive cylindrical body and a glass enclosure to contain the flame, allowing for visibility in dark and hazardous conditions.
Condition
This lamp shows signs of age and use, consistent with its historical purpose. The metal body exhibits patina and wear, and the glass may have minor imperfections. Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. #### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
