Antique Brass Pan with Iron Trivet
This lot comprises an antique brass pan with a long iron handle, secured to the side of the vessel with what appear to be copper rivets. The pan has a flared, straight-sided form with a broad, open top. It is offered alongside a round iron trivet with a pierced openwork top and three turned legs, a combination typical of traditional domestic kitchenware. The brass body and iron fittings give the lot a practical, hand-made character.
Condition and Collector Appeal
The brass shows an uneven patina, with spotting, scratches and darker marks across the body and interior that are consistent with age and use. The iron handle and trivet show surface rust and wear, and the pierced top of the trivet retains its original openwork design. Both pieces remain largely in their original form, with no later alterations evident. Buyers interested in kitchenalia, rustic cookware or antique metalware may find this lot appealing as a decorative piece or a display item, and its patinated finish will suit collectors who value the marks of genuine age.
