Cameo Brooch Description
This is a delicate antique cameo brooch, featuring a finely carved portrait in profile. The cameo is set in what appears to be 800 silver, indicated by the hallmark on the reverse. The carving depicts a classical subject, likely a woman, with detailed hair and facial features. It is presented in its original, aged leather box, suggesting a history of careful preservation.
Condition and Collectibility
The brooch shows signs of age and wear, consistent with its antique status. The silver has a lovely patina, and the cameo itself is in good condition, with no obvious cracks or significant damage. This piece would appeal to collectors of antique jewelry, particularly those interested in cameos, Victorian-era pieces, or silver jewelry. The inclusion of the original box adds to its desirability and historical value.
