Antique Drawing Instrument
This is a beautifully crafted antique drawing instrument, likely dating from the 19th or early 20th century. Constructed primarily of brass, it features a complex arrangement of arms, pivots, and measuring scales, suggesting its use in precise drafting, surveying, or mathematical calculations. The instrument’s design showcases the ingenuity of early engineering and the demand for accurate tools in fields like architecture, cartography, and land surveying.
Condition and Collectibility
The instrument exhibits signs of age and use, with some patina and wear consistent with its age. While the instrument is not assessed for functionality, it presents well as a display piece or a fascinating addition to a collection of antique tools. Its intricate design and historical significance make it a desirable item for collectors of scientific instruments, drafting tools, or those interested in the history of engineering and measurement.
