Antique Goliath Pocket Watch for Spares or Repair
This antique Goliath open face pocket watch is offered as a project piece for spares or repair. It has a round nickel-finished case with a hinged cover and a plain pendant crown set in a ring bow. The front shows a cream dial with black Roman numerals, blued steel hands and a subsidiary seconds ring at the six o’clock position, marked at intervals with minute graduations. The inside of the cover is stamped “SOLID NICKEL”, and the opened case reveals an exposed movement with a visible balance and train, typical of early twentieth-century pocket watches of this type.
Condition, Originality and Collector Appeal
Condition is consistent with age and use. The dial shows tone changes and staining, with a small area of loss near the seven o’clock position, and the case shows general wear, scratches and handling marks around the edges. The movement is dirty and worn in places, and this is not offered as a working timepiece. The hands, dial and case appear to be original to the watch, which adds to its interest for those who collect early pocket watches or restore antique timekeeping mechanisms. It would suit a restorer seeking parts, a hobbyist building a collection of nickel cased watches, or a buyer looking for a characterful piece to bring back to life.
