Halberd Description

This antique halberd presents a striking example of historical weaponry. The polearm features a distinctive axe blade combined with a spear point and a hook, all forged from steel and affixed to a wooden shaft. The design suggests a weapon intended for both thrusting and cutting, commonly used by infantry in the 16th and 17th centuries. The halberd’s construction and form indicate its use in both battlefield engagements and ceremonial displays.

Halberd Condition

The halberd exhibits signs of age and use, consistent with its antique nature. The steel components display patina and some surface corrosion, while the wooden shaft shows wear and possible minor splits. Despite these signs of age, the halberd remains a visually impressive piece, likely of interest to collectors of antique arms and armour, or those interested in historical military equipment. It is a fascinating relic of a bygone era.
