Antique Moroccan Perfume Bottle with Filigree Wire Work
This antique Moroccan perfume bottle is a decorative scent vessel with a clear glass body and a tall metal dispensing tube. Its distinctive appeal lies in the applied wire decoration that frames the glass, a traditional technique associated with Moroccan metalwork.
The bottle has a flattened rectangular form with a clear glass body. Its sides and shoulders are overlaid with fine filigree wire work, arranged in looped borders and scrolling arched motifs that follow the shape of the glass. A ribbed collar sits at the neck, leading to a tall, faceted brass-toned tube finished with a turned, tiered finial at the top. The lower section has a plain metal base band.
Condition and Collector Interest
The bottle shows general signs of age, with wear consistent with its years. The filigree work appears to be largely intact, and the metal fittings show the patina expected of an item of this age. Further condition details are available on request from the auction house.
