An Antique Oak Writing Bureau on Barley Twist Stand
This antique oak writing bureau combines a fall front writing compartment with a chest of drawers, raised on a separate stand. The fall front is decorated with moulded panels, and the case below has two short drawers above a long drawer. Each drawer carries a brass pull with a teardrop drop, and the stand is supported by turned barley twist legs joined by a stretcher. Condition and Presentation
The bureau shows general signs of age and use, with marks and wear visible across the top, the fall front and the edges of the case. The oak has a lighter, faded tone that gives the piece a bleached appearance. Keyholes are visible on the fall front and drawer fronts. The barley twist legs and stretcher remain in place, and the overall form is intact. Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question.
