Pair of Antique Porcelain Figurines

This charming pair of antique porcelain figurines depicts a gentleman and lady engaged in leisurely pursuits – he with a tennis racket, she holding a ball. Likely crafted in Germany, possibly by a maker such as Citizen Dorf or in the Dresden region, these figurines exhibit the Rococo style popular in the 18th century. The figures are adorned with vibrant colours and intricate detailing, including gilded accents and floral motifs. They stand upon ornate, scrolling bases, adding to their overall elegance and visual appeal.

Condition and Collectibility

These figurines show signs of age and wear consistent with their antique status. There may be minor imperfections, such as small chips or crazing to the glaze, which are typical for pieces of this era. Despite these minor flaws, the figurines remain visually striking and retain their original charm. They would be a desirable addition to a collection of antique porcelain, appealing to enthusiasts of Rococo art, German craftsmanship, or historical collectibles.
