Silver Ashtray Description
This antique ashtray is crafted from 835 silver, featuring a beautifully repoussed scene depicting figures seated around a table. The oval tray boasts an intricately pierced and scrolling rim, adding to its ornate aesthetic. The scene is likely Dutch in origin, reflecting a traditional genre painting style, and the overall design suggests a piece from the late 19th or early 20th century.
Condition and Collectibility
This silver ashtray shows signs of age and use, with some surface wear and patina consistent with its antique status. The repousse work remains remarkably detailed, and the pierced rim is intact. This piece would appeal to collectors of antique silver, Dutch art, or vintage smoking accessories, offering a charming and decorative addition to any collection.
