Antique Oak Spinning Chair

This is an antique oak spinning chair, likely dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The chair features a circular seat and a shaped backrest, designed to provide comfort and support during the process of spinning wool or flax. The three-legged base provides stability, and the construction suggests a hand-crafted origin, typical of furniture made for domestic use in rural settings.

Condition and Collectibility

This spinning chair shows signs of age and use, with wear to the wood and possible minor structural imperfections. Despite this, it remains a charming example of traditional craftsmanship and would appeal to collectors of antique furniture or those interested in textile history. The chair’s rustic aesthetic and historical significance make it a unique addition to any home or collection.
