Imari Charger Plate
This exquisite antique charger plate is a stunning example of Japanese Imari porcelain from the Meiji period (1868-1912). The plate features a beautifully hand-painted scene of cranes amidst foliage, executed in cobalt blue and rich red, and accented with gold detailing. The intricate design is achieved through a combination of hand-painting and transferware techniques, showcasing the skill of the Tiahodo artisans. The scalloped rim and vibrant colours exemplify the Imari style, making it a captivating centrepiece for any collection.
Condition and Collectibility
This charger plate exhibits signs of age and wear consistent with its antique status. While there are no significant chips or cracks, there may be minor imperfections in the glaze or paint, adding to its character and authenticity. This plate is highly desirable for collectors of Japanese porcelain, Imari ware, and transferware, and would be a beautiful addition to a dining table or decorative display. Its vibrant colours and elegant design make it a truly special piece.
