Antique Whitemetal Card Case
This elegant card case is crafted from a whitemetal alloy, likely silver plate, and features intricate embossed floral and foliate designs across its surface. The case opens and closes with a sprung clasp, revealing a spacious interior designed to hold business cards, visiting cards, or credit cards. The detailed engraving and overall craftsmanship suggest a piece from the late 19th or early 20th century, reflecting the aesthetic preferences of the era.
Condition and Collectibility
This card case shows signs of age and use, with some surface wear and minor imperfections consistent with its antique status. The clasp functions, though may require gentle manipulation. Despite these minor flaws, the case remains a beautiful and collectible example of Victorian or Edwardian era accessories, appealing to collectors of small silver items, vintage ephemera, or those interested in the social history of personal accessories.
